From Buenos Aires to the Beaches of Sydney

Argies Football Academy is run by Juan and Augusto (or Tito, for short), two brothers and former professional football players from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Juan played all his youth football for the biggest club in Argentina, Boca Juniors, before turning professional for Huracan FC,- one of the most recognized teams in the country.  He went on to ply his trade in the Denmark Superliga for FCV Vikings. Juan first developed his coaching here - a unique apprenticeship at the highest level, before injury sent him back to finish his professional playing career at Club Atlético Estudiantes back in Argentina. He went on to gain his CONMEBOL Pro License qualification with ATFA - the Technicians Association Argentine Football.

Tito also played his youth football for Huracan Fc, before a burgeoning professional career was cut short by injury. Not to be dismayed, Tito also gained his CONMEBOL Pro License qualification through ATFA, and proceeded to join the coaching ranks of a variety of professional first grade clubs in the Argentina domestic competition. Utilising software like FL-UX and Klipdraw, Tito specialised in video analysis for these clubs. He has also completed coaching courses for the MBP school of coaches in Barcelona, Spain.

As luck would have it, a working holiday brought Tito to Australia, via New Zealand, where brother Juan closely followed. Settling on the warm and inviting Northern Beaches of Sydney, the brothers bring an absolute wealth of playing and coaching experience unmatched by anyone else in Australia.

The Ludic Approach

We believe the sport brings happiness and quality of life, and our coaching methods reflect this.

We build our drills around spontaneity, fun, and games. We don't forget that football is a game, and games are for enjoyment and happiness.

This is what we like to call the Ludic Approach. It reflects the methods and attitude from Argentina - World Championship winning football. It means we create challenges where players are make their own decisions; a space where they can make discoveries about the game while developing their skills.

We give guidance but not demands, and encourage players to think creatively and confidently about the game and life itself. We believe this philosophy is best for getting the most out of young players and helping them develop a life long passion for the game, and ultimately succeed in whatever path they take.
